Following the unexpected death of Alexander Held (1958-2026) in May, fans will soon get a posthumous reunion on screen. The actor had completed filming on episodes that have not yet aired. His colleague Marcus Mittermeier (56) has now revealed when the two München Mord episodes will broadcast.
The Penultimate Episode Airs on August 22
"There are two unaired episodes as a farewell to Alexander Held," he wrote on his Instagram account. The first is München Mord - Die Stadt, die es nicht gibt! and will air on Saturday, August 22, at 8:15 PM on ZDF. Mittermeier revealed about the plot: "The deceased hostess of a party gives us puzzles to solve. Which of the guests has something to hide? What does the music (history) of the city have to do with the death?" This is the penultimate episode with Alexander Held. "The final one 'Das Recht auf Glück' comes in December!" He included a photo of himself, Held, and colleague Bernadette Heerwagen (49).
Alexander Held passed away unexpectedly on May 12 at the age of 67 after a brief illness. He shaped the crime series München Mord and Stralsund. In them, Held portrayed a detective chief inspector in each, but with completely opposing approaches. In Stralsund, where he investigated since 2010, he played the controlled, taciturn, but loyal Karl Hidde. Here too, he had completed one more episode with the working title Dunkle Tiefen before his death.
In München Mord, from 2014 alongside Bernadette Heerwagen and Marcus Mittermeier, Held instead played Ludwig Schaller: a chaotic genius who solves cases with almost supernatural empathy and gut feeling. The trio appeared on screen together 22 times, most recently in January in Im Zweifel für den Zweifel.
