TV host Steffi Brungs (37) is relying on quality time with her family and close friends following her split from Chris Wackert (37). During an extended vacation in Greece, she is apparently able to recharge after the difficult personal phase.

'Grateful for these people and this shared vacation'

While Wackert hosted "Sat.1-Frühstücksfernsehen" with Karen Heinrichs (52) last week and was thus more in work mode, Steffi Brungs let her soul unwind on the Chalkidiki peninsula. On her Instagram account, she shared numerous glimpses into her time off, which included workout sessions at the gym, extensive swimming in the sea and tennis matches, as well as relaxed poolside reading, chilling at the beach and a beauty session with a face mask.

'Having my family and friends so close to me during these times is so healing,' the RTL host shared via Instagram. In addition to several relatives, her colleague and close friend Fiona Wagner had also flown south with her. 'I am grateful for these people and this shared vacation!' Brungs concluded, also asking her followers: 'What helps you when life suddenly turns out differently than planned?'

Split After Seven Years

In early July, it became known that Steffi Brungs and Chris Wackert had surprisingly separated. The two met in August 2014 at a student party, married exactly five years later and were considered one of Germany's most prominent TV host couples.

The 37-year-old regularly appears as a VIP expert on the RTL midday magazine "Punkt 12" and also hosted the concert series "Die Schlagernacht des Jahres" together with Norman Langen (41). Wackert, meanwhile, has been part of the "Sat.1-Frühstücksfernsehen" team since 2016.

They also had professional projects together: In 2025 and 2026, they hosted the first two seasons of the Netflix dating show "Love Is Blind: Germany". They also ran the podcast "TraumBar", with the most recent episode appearing in May.

Steffi Brungs Received Cancer Diagnosis Shortly After Wedding

During their roughly seven-year marriage, the couple also had to overcome several hurdles. As Steffi Brungs publicly revealed in June 2025, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer at age 31 - just a few weeks after the wedding. 'For a long time, it was incredibly difficult for me to talk about it. Today I can. Because I am so incredibly grateful that I am healthy,' she shared on Instagram.
