Shock for fans of Lena Gercke (38): The model reached out to her Instagram followers on Thursday evening with a photo from an ambulance. In a story, the 38-year-old only shared the time: 8:47 PM. Shortly after midnight, she published a picture of a hospital corridor. "What a week...", Gercke wrote, announcing: "Things will be a bit quieter here for the next few days". She did not explain what exactly had happened.
Gercke is plagued by bad luck
The past few days have been turbulent for the former "Germany's next Topmodel" winner. She is moving into a new house in Berlin with her partner Dustin Schöne and their two daughters together - normally a reason to celebrate. But shortly after the move, the joy was already dampened: In her Instagram story, the 38-year-old reported water damage. The heavy rain in Berlin last weekend apparently caused trouble for the model as well.
One photo showed a puddle of water in her basement. "And I actually love summer rain... just not in the house", Gercke wrote. It was also not the first incident of this kind. "No matter where I move or move into, the very first thing I always have is water damage", she explained, speaking of a "curse" that apparently follows her.
She had already experienced a first case of water damage in the new house at the end of last year. During renovations, workers had accidentally drilled into the underfloor heating and flooded the bathroom - of all rooms, one that wasn't even part of the renovation work.
Emotional farewell to the old apartment
Saying goodbye to her old home is also difficult for Lena Gercke. In a clip, she sits in an almost completely empty room, with only a dresser still visible. "And suddenly the move is no longer just a move", she writes thoughtfully. "You stand in empty rooms full of memories, children's first steps, and say goodbye to a chapter."
