Jörg Dahlmann (67) has survived his liver surgery. His partner Claudia Pöhlmann provided a health update in one of her Instagram stories. The post was also shared on the Instagram account of the sports commentator: "Jörg is doing reasonably well, but still very weak", she wrote in a story. "Now the healthy part of the liver must grow", she continued. "Please understand that he cannot respond to your messages", the personal trainer wrote further.

Along with the text, Claudia Pöhlmann published a photo from the hospital. Jörg Dahlmann smiles weakly at the camera by her side. With his right hand, he forms the victory sign.

Jörg Dahlmann's Liver Is Divided Into Two Parts

During the surgery, the cult commentator's liver was separated into two parts. The right lobe of the liver, which is affected by a tumor and malignant cells, was cut off from the blood supply. This way, it is supposed to die off and be removed in another surgery.

This measure is intended to allow the healthy left part of the liver to grow. It is expected to eventually reach 80 percent of the liver's original volume.

The surgery to divide the organ was supposed to take place earlier. However, it had to be postponed because tests needed to be conducted first. Jörg Dahlmann explained this to his followers two days ago via Instagram.

It was only in mid-June of this year that Jörg Dahlmann publicly announced his liver cancer diagnosis. It was already his fourth cancer diagnosis. In 2005, Dahlmann suffered from colon cancer. Because the tumor was detected early, only part of the colon had to be removed. Later followed a skin cancer diagnosis and in 2016 the diagnosis of prostate cancer - each time connected with surgery.
