Zendaya (29) attended the Los Angeles premiere of 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' on Monday evening at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood in a dress reminiscent of a spider. The design is by couture label Ashi Studio, as reported by 'People' magazine.

The black satin corset tapered into a deeply cut neckline, whose edges were shaped like the pedipalps of a spider. From the bodice, pleated folds fell downward, gathering into a train at the back. At the front, Zendaya showed leg.

Thoughtful down to the shoes

Zendaya paired the dress with pointed black pumps, on which, according to 'People,' sat a tiny spider. She combined this with diamond earrings set in white gold. She wore her hair slicked straight back, with individual sleek strands draped across her forehead, adding an additional detail to the spider look. Zendaya also chose dark eye makeup that created a dramatic expression.

Method dressing as press tour principle

With her latest appearance, the actress followed a pattern she has been consistently continuing for weeks. At a photo call in London on June 25, she wore an archive piece by John Galliano from the Spring 1997 collection, in the back of which a spider web of sparkling appliqués was incorporated. 'People' categorizes this as method dressing, meaning clothing that references the film's subject matter.

Zendaya's husband Tom Holland (30) stuck to the color code of his film costume for his appearance. The actor arrived in a burgundy suit by Jacquemus, paired with a bright red shirt and a navy blue tie. The couple posed together on the blue carpet.

In addition to Holland and Zendaya, attendees included Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Jacob Batalon, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, Liza Colón-Zayas, Eman Esfandi, and Marvin Jones III. Sink appeared in a backless gown by Prada.

Zendaya appears in the film once again as Michelle 'MJ' Jones-Watson. It is already the second joint film production with Holland this year, following Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey,' which was released on July 16. 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' opens in theaters on July 29.
