Bill and Tom Kaulitz (36) unveiled their new wax figures in Berlin. The musicians from the band Tokio Hotel came face to face with themselves for the first time at Madame Tussauds. The appearance is also a premiere for the Berlin exhibition, as the figures of a twin pair were presented simultaneously there for the first time.
Unusual Sight for the Brothers
After months of work and an elaborate sitting, the Kaulitz brothers saw their wax doppelgangers live for the first time. The figures were created by around 20 artists in the Merlin Magic Making Studios in London, as Madame Tussauds announced.
"It's quite surreal to come face to face with yourself like this," Bill Kaulitz is quoted as saying in a press release. "I had a figure years ago, but I'm very happy that I now have a twin figure together with Tom. There's so much attention to detail in it." Tom, whose wife Heidi Klum (53) has had her own wax figure in Berlin since 2010, was also impressed. "Yes, you can see that especially in the details of the whole look. From the jewelry to Bill's microphone and my guitar." Although the two are twins, there are also things that look different about them, and that was well executed.
In his Instagram story as well, singer Bill Kaulitz raved in English about the many details of the figures, such as the eyebrows. The figures are really "amazing," and the moment was "wild."
Months of Handcrafted Work
The foundation for the figures was a multi-hour sitting in September 2025 in Munich. During this, the brothers were measured, photographed and analyzed. Skin tones, eye colors, hair structure, tattoos and posture were recorded, among other things, so that the implementation would be as accurate as possible. The creation process and the sitting also play a role in the third season of the Netflix series "Kaulitz & Kaulitz," which starts on July 23.
Subsequently, the London artists worked on the figures in pure handcraft, from modeling the heads to inserting individual hairs. Capturing the brothers' similarity without blurring their differences was considered particularly tricky.
Authentic Outfits from Anniversary Concert
For the clothing, Madame Tussauds relied on originals. The figures wear authentic pieces that the musicians made available. They come from the anniversary concert "20 Jahre Durch den Monsun" (20 Years Through the Monsoon), which Tokio Hotel performed in August 2025 at Berlin's Wuhlheide.
