The water police on the Elbe are going back on patrol: ARD will air eight new episodes of the series "WaPo Elbe" starting at the end of September 2026. The broadcaster announced this on Tuesday. Production company Klingsor Media is even more specific on its website. There, September 29, 2026 is listed as the start date, with episodes scheduled to air on Tuesdays at 6:50 PM.
Familiar Faces in Guest Roles
This time, the episodic roles feature names that many viewers will find familiar. Saxon cabaret artist and actor Tom Pauls will appear, as will Raphael Vogt, who became known through "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten". Also joining are Moritz Lindbergh, Stephan Baumecker, Ali Berber, Monika Anna Wojtyło, Boris Schwiebert, Uwe Lach, Marius Bistritzky and Lotta Paulina.
The setting is once again the Elbe against the backdrop of Pirna, Saxon Switzerland and the Czech border. The criminal cases are correspondingly unusual. They challenge the investigators not only professionally, but some also affect them personally.
The Regular Team Remains on Board
There are no personnel changes at the station. Carina Wiese returns as Maike Junghans, while Adnan Maral continues to play Chief Inspector Sami Fares. Barbara Prakopenka and Ferdi Özten return as Jana Macourek and Moritz Krätschmer. Regine Hentschel is back in front of the camera as forensic pathologist Dr. Annemarie Jaschki.
"WaPo Elbe" has been airing on ARD since February 2023 and is the fourth location in the "WaPo" series universe. Previously, spin-offs had already launched at Lake Constance, in Berlin and in Duisburg. In the two seasons aired so far, the team from Pirna has solved a total of 16 cases. With the eight new episodes, the series now grows to three seasons and a total of 24 episodes.
