Actress Ashley Johnson (42) has publicly revealed a shocking experience from her childhood. During the filming of the sitcom "Unser lautes Heim", she was nearly abducted, according to her own account. The alleged perpetrator is said to have been armed.
In the podcast "Weird Kids", Johnson recalled the incident that occurred in the early 1990s when she was only six or seven years old.
A man grabbed the then six-year-old
Johnson recounted that she was out with her mother when suddenly a man jumped out of the crowd, grabbed her, and ran off with her.
"I only remember that a man jumped out of the line, grabbed me, and ran off", the actress described. Security personnel only intervened after a short time. The security forces overpowered the man while she herself was thrown through the air.
At the time, she didn't really understand the situation at first. Instead of being afraid, she was mainly concerned because she had lost a shoe during the scuffle and thought she would get in trouble for it.
Suspect said to have been armed
As Johnson further reported, the production had already received a threatening letter before the incident. In it, a fan is said to have announced coming to the set with a weapon and wanting to kill members of the cast.
After the failed abduction attempt, the man was arrested. "He clearly went to prison. He had a weapon", Johnson said. She owes it to the security forces that nothing happened to her.
Known from "Unser lautes Heim" and "The Last of Us"
Ashley Johnson played the youngest daughter Chrissy Seaver in the US sitcom "Unser lautes Heim" (original title "Growing Pains") from 1990 to 1992. The series ran for a total of seven seasons and made numerous actors famous, including Leonardo DiCaprio (51).
Later, Johnson celebrated successes as a voice actress, among other things. She lent her voice to Ellie in the video games "The Last of Us" and was also seen in series such as "Blindspot".
