Prince William (44) and Princess Kate (44) have taken a look back at their summer so far on Instagram. On Tuesday, July 28, the couple published a photo series titled "The Summer Rewind" and thanked everyone in the caption "who made the past months so special".

The series opens with a photo from May 8 in front of Buckingham Palace, taken at a garden party at the royal residence. The heir to the throne is wearing a top hat. About six weeks later, the collection shows the couple at the horse races in Royal Ascot on June 17.

From Ascot to Wimbledon

The tennis classic at Wimbledon also made it into the selection. The family visited the tournament in July, with Kate presenting the trophy to the women's singles champion. A video summarizes the impressions.

A further memory is considerably more serious. It shows Kate in conversation with a patient she met during her visit to The Christie cancer center in June.

Famous faces between engagements

Between the official appearances, familiar faces pop up. William congratulated nature filmmaker David Attenborough (100) at his birthday celebration. With Robert Irwin, the heir to the throne sat in a green London bus in June, on their way to the Impact Assembly of the Earthshot Prize.

During London Climate Action Week, William also met Emma Watson and Benedict Cumberbatch at a business forum of the United for Wildlife initiative, which belongs to the couple's Royal Foundation.

Family photo with dogs

Things get more private with a photo showing William and Kate lying on the grass with their three children Prince George (13), Princess Charlotte (11), and Prince Louis (8). The two family dogs Orla and Otto are also there. The image was originally published in April, on the occasion of the couple's 15th wedding anniversary.

In addition, there are three individual portraits of the children against a coastal backdrop. Each of them served as a birthday photo: Louis turned eight in April, Charlotte turned eleven in May, and George turned 13 in July.

The most recent occasion: George's 13th birthday

The summer review follows just a few days after the eldest son's special day. On July 22, George turned 13 years old, and his parents congratulated him via Instagram as well: "Happy 13th Birthday, George!"

The accompanying portrait was taken by photographer Matt Porteous at Kensington Palace following the Trooping the Colour military parade in June. George poses in it smiling, wearing a dark blue suit and white shirt with an open collar, his hands casually in his pockets.
