Former "DSDS" juror and music manager Thomas Stein (77) suffered a "life-threatening brain hemorrhage" at the beginning of the year, as reported by the "Bild" newspaper. "I was out with my dog in the morning and suddenly felt dizzy", Stein recalls according to the newspaper.
"I had to learn to walk and speak all over again"
Back in the house, he had trouble speaking and could no longer move properly. "I also had severe headaches." His wife immediately drove him to the clinic, where emergency surgery followed: "I wasn't afraid of dying. My wife was more afraid for me than I was. The doctors gave me courage, I trusted them."
The surgery lasted several hours. Afterwards, he spent six days in intensive care in an induced coma, the 77-year-old said.
Following the clinic, Thomas Stein was transferred to a rehabilitation facility according to the report: "I had to learn to walk and speak all over again. It was really exhausting, but I persevered. I even got on the exercise bike in the evenings to get fit again."
Three months after the brain hemorrhage, Stein was physically recovered according to the "Bild" newspaper and was able to drive again. He goes to physical therapy twice a week to treat the remaining physical effects, the report continues.

Thomas Stein became known not only for his work as a music manager but especially for his TV appearances. He was a member of the jury for the first and second seasons of the RTL casting show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar", which premiered on TV in 2002 and 2003. Between 2003 and 2010, he also made regular appearances on "Die ultimative Chartshow". In 2010, he was a jury member on the ninth season of the casting show "Popstars" on ProSieben.
