ProSieben is reviving its former "Mad Monday" and will once again focus on US sitcoms. The new comedy night starts on August 10 on linear television. From then on, the network will air three series every Monday to kick off the week.
For years, what ProSieben called "Mad Monday" was a fixed part of the start of the week. Sitcoms like "The Big Bang Theory", "Young Sheldon", and "Die Simpsons" shaped the network's Monday evenings. ProSieben is now returning to this concept, even though the name "Mad Monday" no longer appears in the current announcement. However, the principle remains unchanged: comedy is meant to provide entertainment at the start of the week.
"Georgie & Mandy", "Ted", and "St. Denis Medical"
In primetime, ProSieben will now focus on a spin-off of "Young Sheldon". At 8:15 PM, the network will air the second season of "Georgie & Mandy" on Mondays. The focus is on Sheldon's brother Georgie and his wife Mandy, played by Montana Jordan (23) and Emily Osment (34), as they face the challenges of family life together.
This will be followed at 9:15 PM by the second season of "Ted". The series by "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane (52) is based on the film of the same name from 2012, in which Mark Wahlberg (55) and Mila Kunis (42) dealt with the foul-mouthed teddy bear Ted. In the series spin-off, the bear stands by the side of adolescent John, played by Max Burkholder (28), with his typically bad influence.
At 10:15 PM, "St. Denis Medical" will conclude the comedy evening. The mockumentary sitcom, which launched in the US in late 2024, follows the staff of a chronically understaffed hospital through their turbulent workday. Featured are Mekki Leeper (31), Josh Lawson (44), and Wendi McLendon-Covey (56) as Matt, Bruce, and Joyce, among others.
The new episodes will be available for streaming on the in-house streaming service Joyn one week before they air on linear television.
