One lives in Great Britain, the other in the USA. Prince Harry (41) is currently in England, but there will likely be no meeting with his older brother, British heir to the throne Prince William (44). On July 7, 2026, the two royals, whose relationship is considered extremely strained, attended appointments just kilometers apart from each other.
William meets athletes and schoolchildren instead of brother
William, the eldest son of King Charles III (77), attended an appointment at Ysgol Gymraeg Llundain, the London Welsh School, on Tuesday. At the Welsh elementary school, the prince played with the children and helped send greetings to the Welsh athletes who will participate in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, starting in about two weeks. On site, William also met with several athletes.
Harry, who lives in California with his wife Meghan (44) and their children Prince Archie (7) and Princess Lilibet (5), was also in London on Tuesday. The younger prince traveled to England for several days and arrived in Great Britain alone on Monday evening. There had been weeks of speculation about whether Meghan and the children would accompany him. As in the past, the reason the family is not there is considered to be personal security. Harry and his family are not entitled to automatic taxpayer-funded protection during their stays. There is currently still a possibility that Meghan and the children may travel later.
Brothers' relationship considered very distant
During his first full day in England, Harry visited, among other places, Chatham House, also located in London - at roughly the same time as William's school visit. The two brothers were thus separated by only a few kilometers and not, as usual, by the big pond. There is hope that the 41-year-old will meet his father Charles during his stay, but according to British media reports, the two brothers meeting each other is considered almost out of the question. While Harry and Charles are said to have reconciled somewhat in recent years after a dispute, the brothers' relationship is considered completely cold.
Harry's stay is not limited to London. The prince is expected in Birmingham, among other places, to kick off a one-year countdown to the Invictus Games, which will take place in the English city starting July 10, 2027. In addition, Harry is expected to visit Althorp House. His late mother, Princess Diana (1961-1997), was buried at the Spencer family estate.
