Sweet declaration of love on Instagram. Former 007 actor Pierce Brosnan (73) and his wife Keely Shaye Smith (62) just celebrated their silver wedding anniversary. Now the journalist has posted moving words to her husband on Instagram - and shared a series of photos from the decades of their relationship.
Pierce Brosnan's Wife Looks Forward 'to the Next 25 Years by Your Side'
'Happy 25th wedding anniversary, my darling! What an adventure life with you is,' Smith wrote on the social network. And continued: 'I look forward to the next 25 years by your side.' She added a red heart emoji.
In the photos, the former James Bond actor and his wife appear lovingly together through the decades. In one shot, she affectionately nestles her head against her husband. Then the couple poses barefoot on the beach and shares a passionate kiss in elegant evening attire. The photo series concludes with what appears to be a current selfie of the couple during a sunset.
It Began with an Interview Appointment
The love story of Brosnan and Smith began in 1994 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Smith was there for work, as a television correspondent she was supposed to interview 'Cheers' star Ted Danson. At a party, she ran into Brosnan instead. 'He was captivating. Tall, dark and handsome, everything that anybody would be attracted to immediately,' she recalled in 2001 to 'People' magazine. 'He had this mischievous sparkle in his eyes. I thought: Wow! Wow!'
The two became a couple. In January 1997, their son Dylan was born, and half a year before the wedding, their second son Paris followed in February 2001.
Marital Happiness After Tragedy
However, Pierce Brosnan had gone through a dark period before this. In December 1991, his first wife, Australian actress Cassandra Harris, died of ovarian cancer at age 43. The marriage produced son Sean (42), and Brosnan also adopted her children Charlotte and Christopher (53). Charlotte died in 2013 at age 41 from the same disease.
His second wife helped him through this time, the Hollywood star told the 'Mail on Sunday' in 2013. 'Keely has always been kind and compassionate and encouraged me to mourn for Cassie,' Brosnan said at the time. 'I suppose Keely is my North Star, always looking out for me.'
