Two prominent members of the Middleton family spent a relaxed day at tennis on Monday: Kate's mother Carole (71) and her sister Pippa (42) attended the tournament at Wimbledon together, while the Princess of Wales (44) herself was engaged elsewhere.
In keeping with their status, the Middletons took their seats in the Royal Box at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and watched the matches on the eighth day of the tournament. There they also chatted with tennis legend Roger Federer, who was among the wedding guests of Pippa and her husband James Matthews in 2017.
Two summery looks in the stands
Fashion-wise, Pippa opted for a white dress with a red floral pattern. The "Naira" model is from the label Reformation and stands out for its deep V-neckline and puff sleeves, as reported by the fashion magazine Marie Claire. The mother of three chose an accessory with recognition value: a woven clutch from J. Crew, which Duchess Meghan also owns and which Pippa had already brought to Wimbledon twice in 2018. A sun hat and light suede pumps completed the outfit. Her mother Carole chose a white dress and paired it with a blue blazer as well as sunglasses.
For Pippa, it was her first appearance at Wimbledon in two years. The Princess's younger sister had recently kept a low public profile and was notably absent from family photos.
Kate had business elsewhere
Princess Kate herself was at the same time about seven miles away. The 44-year-old visited the Evelina London Children's Hospital, of which she has been patron since 2018. During the appointment, she was briefed on the planned expansion of the clinic and spoke with the young patients, as the heir couple wrote on Instagram.
One fashion detail fit perfectly with her relatives' outing: At the hospital, Prince William's wife wore a shirt dress with black buttons and a belt by the label Suzannah, which she had already chosen for a Wimbledon visit in 2019. Kate had already made her own debut in the audience at this year's tournament on July 2nd.
