Harry Styles (32) is writing music history once again: The British megastar was awarded a Guinness World Record for the longest consecutive concert series by an artist at London's Wembley Stadium. With twelve sold-out shows as part of his "Together, Together" tour, he surpassed the previous record held by Coldplay. The band had played ten nights at the legendary arena in 2025.
Styles started his Wembley shows on June 12, with the final concert taking place on Saturday in front of around 80,000 fans. Originally, only six performances were planned, but due to enormous demand, the series was extended. Unlike previous tours, the singer performed exclusively in London throughout the UK.
Harry Styles remembers One Direction
At the final concert, Harry Styles according to BBC took time to reflect on his impressive career - while also honoring his years with One Direction. The boy band was formed in 2010 on the talent show "The X Factor" and went on an indefinite hiatus in 2016.
"I wouldn't be on this stage if it weren't for four friends of mine who were a huge part of this journey", Styles said during the show. He then thanked his former bandmates Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik - and especially remembered Liam Payne, who died in 2024 at the age of 31.
"I want to thank Niall, Louis, Zayn, and my dear friend Liam for those years - for everything I learned, for the friendship, and for everything that time meant. None of this would have been possible, I wouldn't be here without you", Styles said, visibly moved.
"Wembley means an incredible amount to me"
The venue holds special significance for the singer: 16 years earlier, he had been cast for "The X Factor" in the immediate vicinity of the stadium - the moment that decisively changed his career.
"16 years ago ... right next to this building, I was put into a band that changed my life", Styles recalled. "Every time I drive through this area, I'm flooded with memories from that time. And every time I have the privilege of returning to Wembley, it means an incredible amount to me."
Wembley Stadium also honored the record, unveiling a special banner in tribute to the musician before the final concert. "12 shows. One record. A place in Wembley history", the stadium wrote on X.
From One Direction to global star
Since starting his solo career in 2017, Harry Styles has developed into one of the most successful musicians of his generation. He has won six Brit Awards and three Grammy Awards, among others. His fourth studio album "Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally" was released in March.
His mother Anne Twist also celebrated her son's special moment. On Instagram, she shared emotional photos from Styles' childhood and from the Wembley concert. "From this moment to this moment ... what a weekend", she wrote on Instagram. She had sensed as early as 1996 that her son would one day stand on a stage. However, she could not have imagined back then that he would one day break records.
After the spectacular London shows, Harry Styles continues his tour with concerts in Brazil, Mexico, and the USA. The tour concludes in December with the Australia leg.
