Count Nikolai of Monpezat (26) and Benedikte Thoustrup sat side by side in the front row on Wednesday when Danish label The Garment showcased its collection at Thorvaldsens Museum. At their appearance at Copenhagen Fashion Week, they delighted in coordinated looks: gray, black, and white dominated the couple's outfits, as "Billed-Bladet" reports.
Benedikte Thoustrup wore a black midi dress with white lace trim. She paired the sleeveless dress with light-colored lace pumps and a black handbag. Count Nikolai, son of Joachim of Denmark (57), appeared in a light gray suit with a patterned tie. The elegant look was made stylish with sunglasses featuring orange-tinted lenses.
The couple's outfits can also be seen in a video posted by Copenhagen Fashion Week on Instagram. Under the clip, the two received numerous compliments. "Wonderful couple," "beautiful together," or "the best representatives of the Danish royal family" can be read there.
Benedikte Thoustrup Walked for MKDT Studio
The day before, Thoustrup herself had stood on the runway. On Tuesday, she walked in the MKDT Studio show in Copenhagen, with her long-time partner supporting her from the front row.
On Instagram, Thoustrup herself spoke up afterward. It had been a great honor to walk in MKDT's SS27 show, she wrote alongside several shots from her appearance. The label is one of her favorite Danish brands that she has admired for years. She thanked Caroline Engelgaar and the entire MKDT team. Nikolai also works as a model and has already walked for Burberry and Dior.
Back in Denmark Permanently for Months
There's a reason the couple is currently appearing so frequently at fashion events in Copenhagen. Last December, their agency confirmed to "Billed-Bladet" that Count Nikolai and Benedikte Thoustrup are living in Denmark again permanently.
Previously, they had been abroad for years-for studies, work, and extended vacations. In 2021, the couple spent a semester in Paris, where the former prince took business electives at the Paris School of Business. Australia followed in 2023: the two studied at the University of Technology in Sydney until February 2024. A few months later, they returned there for several months; they also celebrated Christmas and New Year's in Australia.
"Denmark Is Always Our Base"
However, they never completely gave up Denmark. Benedikte Thoustrup kept her apartment in Copenhagen the entire time. In August of last year, Count Nikolai said in an interview with "Elle": "But it's also important to emphasize that Denmark is always our base. From this starting point, we travel out into the world, but Copenhagen and Denmark will always be the places we want to return to."
Nikolai and Benedikte Thoustrup have been together since their school days. The eldest son of Prince Joachim and Countess Alexandra (62) and the entrepreneur from Randers met at Herlufsholm boarding school; their first date took them to a gas station nearby, as the couple told "Elle".
