Bill Kaulitz (36) is spending his days off in Italy, accompanied by his mother. On Instagram, the Tokio Hotel singer posted a selfie showing the two of them in front of the Trevi Fountain in Rome, surrounded by other tourists. He captioned it simply with a heart emoji: "with Mama in Roma".
The reaction from his community was swift. "Best wishes!! Your mama looks amazing. Both of you", commented TV host Marlene Lufen. "We love Mama's new hairstyle", wrote Katy Bähm. Simone Ballack left two heart emojis.
Two weeks without "Kaulitz Hills"
The fact that Bill Kaulitz is going on vacation right now had been announced. In the July 29 episode of their podcast "Kaulitz Hills - Senf aus Hollywood", he and his twin brother Tom discussed taking a break. "We're going on vacation", Tom said in the final episode of the sixth season. "There won't be any 'Kaulitz Hills' for two weeks."
The two had wanted this break themselves. They wanted to "give people a little time to breathe", Tom explained. "I also feel like we're constantly on air somehow these days." He had the impression that he and his brother were "already getting on everyone's nerves again", and added jokingly: "I'm even getting on my own nerves." Bill could relate. They were doing their fans a favor with their silence, the two joked.
Constant presence for Netflix series
The self-assessment isn't far off the mark. In recent months, the brothers have been virtually omnipresent in German-speaking media: with a new season of their Netflix series "Kaulitz & Kaulitz", with the announced return of "Wetten, dass..?", with their podcast, and most recently with Tom as a "fan expert" for MagentaTV at the World Cup.
Then there's the music. "Without You", a new single from Tokio Hotel, was recently released, and according to the brothers, the accompanying album is almost finished. Before flying off on vacation, the final files were supposed to go into mastering, Tom reported on the podcast. Everyone else had long since gone on vacation while they were still working, the twins complained. For Bill Kaulitz, this exhausting phase apparently came to an end in Rome.
