Where else: Arnold Schwarzenegger also celebrated his 79th birthday on Thursday with a workout. On Instagram, the actor published two photos showing him wearing sunglasses at the lat pulldown and bicep curl machines at Gold's Gym in the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles.
"I'm turning 79 today. I don't want any gifts", he wrote alongside the images. Instead, the Hollywood star used the post to promote his fitness app.
Daughter Katherine opens the family album
Even though Schwarzenegger didn't want any gifts: His daughter Katherine Schwarzenegger (36) couldn't resist publicly wishing him well with a peek into the family album. She published several photos from the family archives, showing her father holding her as a baby while wearing a clown costume. There were also more photos from her childhood as well as snapshots of Arnold with her mother Maria Shriver (70) or alone.
"Happy Birthday, Dad. We are so lucky that you're ours, and even luckier that our kids have you as Opa", the 36-year-old wrote alongside the series of images. She used the word "Opa" in German, as Schwarzenegger is originally from Austria. His daughter has three children with fellow actor Chris Pratt.
From 'Mr. Universe' to family patriarch
Arnold Schwarzenegger himself has four children with Maria Shriver: Katherine, Christina (35), Patrick (32), and Christopher (28). The marriage ended in 2011 after 25 years. His third son Joseph Baena (28) is from an affair with former housekeeper Mildred Patricia Baena.
In the 1980s, 'Mr. Universe' Schwarzenegger went from bodybuilder to movie star. He was last seen in theaters in 2019 in Terminator: Dark Fate as an aged fighting machine, and for Netflix he shot the spy series FUBAR.
