One look at his head on Wednesday evening was enough to see that Andrew Garfield (42) has changed up his look. With significantly longer hair, the actor appeared at the premiere of his new film "The Magic Faraway Tree", which took place on July 29 at the Regal Union Square in New York City. Garfield posed there alongside his co-star Claire Foy (42) for photographers. He first appeared with his new look in early July at a tennis match in Wimbledon.
At the film premiere, the British actor opted for a complete look by Vivienne Westwood. Foy, on the other hand, chose a burgundy suit enlivened with brown tulle details. Director Ben Gregor and producer Nicholas Brown also didn't miss the evening in southern Manhattan.
Reunion After "Breathe"
Garfield and Foy standing next to each other on a red carpet wasn't a first. The two already starred together in 2017 in the drama "Breathe", which tells the story of a man stricken with polio and his wife. From a serious illness to a colorful children's adventure is quite a journey, but one the duo has now taken together.
In "The Magic Faraway Tree", they play a married couple: Polly (Foy) and Tim (Garfield) must move with their three children from the city to the English countryside. While the parents try to settle into the seclusion, the children stumble upon a tree where things are anything but ordinary.
A Tree Full of Quirky Residents
Living in the branches are characters known to generations of readers: Moonface, Silky, Dame Washalot and the Saucepan Man. The cast includes Nonso Anozie, Jessica Gunning and Dustin Demri-Burns, among others. Those who climb to the top of the tree land in fantastic worlds that can be swapped out at will.
That's precisely where the film sets its emotional hook: Amid all the adventures, the family learns to reconnect after years of estrangement.

The literary foundation comes from Enid Blyton, whose novel series was published between 1939 and 1951 and has long achieved classic status in Great Britain. A first trailer for the film adaptation was already released in late June. "The Magic Faraway Tree" opens in US theaters on August 21. In Germany, the theatrical release for "Der Wunderweltenbaum" already took place in late April 2026.
